Dear Wellness Journal,
With the Full Moon coming into our night skies this Thursday (in Australia) we wanted to discuss ENERGY! The full moon has a way of illuminating more than the night sky, it reveals what’s sitting quietly beneath the surface of our daily routines. Its bright, expansive energy invites us to pause, breathe, and take a compassionate look at the patterns shaping our emotional, mental, and energetic world.
This week’s theme, Energy Check-In is the perfect companion to a full moon reflection because both encourage honesty, awareness, and gentle release. If you have a journal or use your device to write some notes to the below questions it will assist with these key focus areas. What’s draining me & what’s fuelling me?
In the rush of everyday life, we rarely stop to ask ourselves where our energy is actually going. We push through tiredness, ignore subtle stress signals, or fall into habits that slowly chip away at our inner reserves. The full moon acts as a natural spotlight, helping us see these hidden drains with clarity. It’s not about judgment or self-criticism, it’s about understanding what your head, heart and body have been trying to tell you.
Begin by asking gently: What’s draining me right now? This can be emotional weight, like carrying someone else’s worries or replaying old stories that no longer help you grow. It can be mental clutter for example: overthinking, perfectionism, or the constant pressure to do more. Sometimes it’s physical exhaustion from taking on too much. And other times, it’s subtle: a boundary you keep stretching, a “yes” you didn’t truly feel, a routine that no longer supports you.
Under the full moon’s light, these drains become easier to name. And once you name something, you reclaim power over it. Journal or write freely, without trying to fix anything yet. Simply acknowledging what drains.
Then shift gently to the second question: What’s fuelling me? Fuel often appears in smaller, quieter forms than we expect. Maybe it’s morning light on your skin, a warm drink that grounds your breath, or a deep conversation that leaves you feeling understood. It could be creative moments, rest, movement, or spending time with someone who feels like home. It can even be the simple courage to slow down.
The full moon supports not just release, but renewal. As you recognize what fuels you, notice how your body responds. Is there softening? A sense of hope? An inner spark that says, more of this, please? These are cues from your energy system pointing toward alignment.
The magic lies in the balance between the two questions. When you identify both the drains and the fuels, you create space for boundaries, clarity, and intentional choice. You begin to understand where to place your time, attention, and heart. You also learn where to gently step back.
This full moon, give yourself permission to reset and release what no longer serves. Here's our curated selections just for you:
Meditation to relax and release. Slow exhale focused on letting tension melt out of the body.
Intention setting with affirmations.
Journal dump. Write freely for 2–5 minutes without editing or reading.
Let all worries, thoughts, or stuck energy leave your mind and land on the page.
Light a candle and welcome clarity into your space. Imagine the flame dissolving heaviness, stress, or old emotions. Each breath in softens, each breath out releases.
Move your body, shake your hands, arms, shoulders, or whole body for 20–30 seconds. Releases stored tension and resets the nervous system.
Boundary reset by saying “I release what is not mine to hold.”
Nature grounding, stand outside or look out a window and visualise releasing into the earth, sky, or wind. Nature absorbs excess energy beautifully.
Lean into what nourishes you. And remember: your energy is sacred. The more clearly you understand it, the more fully you can shine just like the moon itself.
Love you, love me x
