How The W Room Selects it's Crystals

When you’re buying a crystal, you’re not just choosing a rock, you’re choosing something that will sit in your space, be held in your hands, be a conversation piece, become part of your daily life and become a companion your whole life.

That’s something we take seriously when selecting the pieces we offer. Because behind every crystal in our collection, there’s a process.

🌿 It Starts with the Feeling

Before anything else, I go with instinct. When we are out sourcing, there are always certain pieces that stand out immediately. It’s not always about size or perfection, it’s about how a crystal feels. Some pieces just have a presence to them. They draw you in, make you pause, or feel calming the moment you pick them up. Even the ones that don't look pretty, if they give a me a nudge from the universe I know that someone will need them, for the million different reasons. Those are always the first ones I choose.

💎 Quality Matters

We look closely at the quality of each piece, especially with stones like Quartz or Amethyst.

Things to pay attention to:

• Clarity and colour

• Interesting formations or inclusions

• Condition (minimal chips or damage)

• Overall presence of the piece

That doesn’t mean every crystal has to be “perfect.” Sometimes inclusions, textures, or unique growth patterns are exactly what make a piece special.

🌍 Sourcing with Intention

Where crystals come from matters. We try to work with trusted suppliers and choose pieces that have been sourced with care. Many beautiful crystals come from places like Brazil, known for its high-quality quartz and amethyst, and we take time to select from suppliers who value the material not just mass production. Recently we invested in a collection that had been sourced through travel all over the world and some of the crystals each had a beautiful story that went with them of love & care. It’s important to us that each piece has been handled with respect before it ever reaches you.

🔮 Choosing Variety

Not everyone connects with the same type of crystal, and that’s part of the beauty of it.

We offer a mix of:

• Statement pieces and smaller, everyday crystals

• Raw and polished forms

• Different colours, textures, and shapes

From cube formations of purple fluorite to the shifting flash of Labradorite, I want there to be something for everyone to connect with.

🪨 Shape & Character

Shape plays a big role in what we choose. We love a crystal with a matrix that tells a story. Those lines, patterns, and colors aren’t just beautiful, they’re like the history of the stone itself, captured in every twist and inclusion. Each matrix is unique, and seeing it is like reading a tiny geological story written over thousands of years.

We are also drawn to pieces that:

• Sit nicely in a space

• Feel good to hold

Whether it’s a structured tower, a flowing freeform, or a raw cluster, we look for crystals that feel balanced and complete in their own way.

✨ Not just a Trend—What Feels Right

We don't like to select pieces based on trends. Everyone connects with crystals differently. What draws one person in might not resonate with another, and that’s the beauty of it. We all have our own sense of what feels right.

Every piece we choose is something we genuinely connect with, and something I’d feel good about having in my own home.

At the end of the day, choosing crystals is a personal journey, for you and us.
