Beyond the Desk: Reconnecting Outside of Work

Dear Wellness Journal,
When the workday ends, it’s easy for me to slip from one screen to another — emails fade into scrolling, and before I know it, the day is gone. I need to change my habits and stop relying on digital friends and work colleges for connection.
Connection outside of work reminds us who we are beyond our roles and routines.
Call a friend just to laugh. Join a class that feeds your creativity. Share a meal without distractions. Leave your device in your bag and talk to the children or your partner.
These small acts of connection refill the spaces that work often drains.
It’s not about doing more — it’s about being more present. When we nurture relationships, community, and simple joy, we return to work (and to ourselves) lighter, calmer, and more whole.
Your well-being grows in the spaces between — make room for them.
Love you, love me x
