Kindness Never Goes Out of Style

Dear Wellness Journal,

As the year draws to a close and Christmas lights begin to glow, there’s a familiar feeling in the air, reflection. We look back on what this year has brought us: the wins, the losses, the lessons, the moments that quietly changed us.

During this season of giving, it’s easy to get caught up in lists, deadlines, and expectations. But beneath all of that, there’s one thing that never loses its power, no matter the year, the trend, or the season: Kindness.

Kindness doesn’t need a special occasion, but Christmas reminds us of its importance. A kind word. A moment of patience. A thoughtful gesture. These small acts often mean more than the biggest gift under the tree.

Kindness is timeless because it’s felt, not forgotten. People may not remember what you bought them or what you said perfectly, but they will always remember how you made them feel. Especially during the holidays, when emotions can run high and hearts can feel tender, kindness becomes a quiet form of connection.

As we move toward a new year, kindness becomes even more powerful. It shapes how we enter the next chapter, not just how we treat others, but how we treat ourselves. Kindness looks like letting go of unrealistic expectations. It looks like rest without guilt. It looks like forgiveness, growth, and choosing softness in a world that often pushes us to be hard.

Kindness isn’t weakness. It’s strength. It takes courage to stay open, compassionate, and generous, especially when life has tested you. And yet, kindness is what carries us forward. It’s what builds trust, deepens relationships, and leaves a lasting legacy far beyond any resolution.

As this year ends and a new one begins, maybe the intention doesn’t need to be bigger, faster, or more. Maybe it can simply be kinder. Kinder in our words. Kinder in our actions.

Kinder to ourselves and others. Dr. Wayne Dyer has the perfect saying "sometimes it's better to be kind, than right!"

Love you, love me x
